This is particularly relevant in Harford County with so many connections to Aberdeen Proving Ground and Edgewood Arsenal. The presentation will explain how to seek out records of the military and government service of your ancestors. \nThe records are found in several different locations with varying rules of access. Learn how and where this information can be accessed and open the door to the heroic records of your ancestors service to our country. This virtual program is free and open to the public. \n\n

DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday\, May 10th at 12:30 pm\, Katherine Marks Hardy\, National Park Service Trail Manager for Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine\, Hampton National Historic site and the Star-Spangled Banner Trail will share her amazing story about the development of the Star-Spangled Banner Trail and describe the highlights of this journey – one that may encourage a unique and fulfilling road trip this spring. This virtual presentation will traverse the 560-mile land and water route that tells the story of the War of 1812 in the Chesapeake Bay region with a focus on Harford County’s role in this epic tale. The event is free and open to the public.
